Frequently asked questions

How does this travel budget calculator work?
You pick a destination, a trip length in days, and a travel style — budget, mid-range or comfortable. The calculator pulls that destination’s banded daily rate from our cost dataset, multiplies it by your days, adds the flight baseline, and returns both a total and an all-in per-day figure. Every rate comes from the dataset entry shown beside the result, with its verification date.
What is included in the total?
Two lines only: your daily rate multiplied by the trip length, plus a round-trip flight baseline. That is deliberately short. Accommodation, food, local transport and attractions are inside the daily rate rather than itemised separately, so this is a planning number rather than a quote.
What does the total not include?
Visa and entry fees, travel insurance, airport transfers, tips, and anything booked in your home currency — none of those are in this figure. The Trip Planner is the tool that breaks out flights, stay, visa and buffer as separate lines.
Are these prices live quotes?
No. The flight figure is a dated baseline stored in our dataset, not a live fare, and it is a round-trip estimate for a single traveller. Treat it as a planning baseline and check current fares separately before booking.
What does the estimate-tier label mean?
Some destinations in our dataset are marked as rough estimates rather than independently verified. Where that applies the result says so explicitly. We leave the label visible rather than presenting an unverified figure as a checked one.
