Getting there

RAK airport is close — 15 min to Jemaa el-Fnaa. Petit taxi: official rate ~70 MAD (day), ~100 MAD (night 8 PM–6 AM) — insist on meter or agree price before entering. Bus 19: ~30 MAD, runs to Jemaa el-Fnaa. Private transfer: pre-book ~150–200 MAD. Safety

Marrakech is generally safe — violent crime against tourists is rare. Real risks: harassment/touts in medina (firm “la, shukran” + keep walking), fake guides (official guides have badges; agree price upfront), petty theft (crowded souks, Jemaa el-Fnaa — crossbody bag, front pocket), traffic (medina: motos, donkeys, pedestrians — no sidewalks), scams (henna “gift” then demand pay, “closed” attraction redirect, carpet pressure). Solo women: dress modestly (shoulders/knees covered), avoid medina alone late night, use official taxis. Emergency: 19 (police), 15 (ambulance), 150 (tourist police).
